Legend has it that one day, long ago, a clumsy bartender was cleaning up his workspace when he tripped, fell and accidentally knocked over a bottle of whiskey, a bottle of blackberry brandy and a bowl of sugar. As he lay face down on the floor, the ingredients pooled around his mouth and a cocktail was born. Lucky for us, today's Blackberry Whiskey Sour isn't made quite so violently, but have some Band-Aids ready, just in case.
2 parts Whiskey
1 part Blackberry Brandy
1 part lemon juice
1 part simple syrup
Wet the rim of a rocks glass with lemon juice and rim it with coarse sugar.
Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Give it a good shake. Like you mean it. Like someone's life depends on it.
Strain into the rocks glass over ice.
Garnish with a lemon wedge and a blackberry or two.
Send it down the hatch.
