Sorry, Scotland. The Rob Roy martini was invented in 1894 by a bartender who worked at New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Essentially, it's a Manhattan in disguise and instead of Whiskey, Scotch is the star. Don't be a wee clipe, put on your kilt. Let's get mixin'!
Ingredients
2 parts Scotch (we like Dewars but go with your favorite)
1 part sweet vermouth
5 drops of bitters
Directions
Combine the Scotch, vermouth and bitters in a shaker with ice.
Stir. Do not shake. Stir.
Strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
