The Emerson Cocktail dates back to 1914 and is claimed to be named after the literary figure Ralph Waldo Emerson. A writer associated with drinking? You don't say? Well anyway, let's put down the pen and paper and get mixin'!
Ingredients
2 ounces of Gin
1 ounce of Sweet Vermouth
The juice of half a lemon or half a lime
.5 ounces of Maraschino Liqueur
Maraschino Cherry for garnish
Directions
Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake!!!
Strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a Maraschino Cherry.
Enjoy with a good book. Or not.
