We love a cocktail with some history. The Rock & Rye cocktail originated in the 19th century. Bartenders needed to tame the bite of young rye whiskey and they did it with a lot of...wait for it...sugar! Actual rock candy. The recipe has changed over the years but the Rock & Rye remains a favorite among cocktail lovers with a sweet tooth. Call up your dentist & let's get mixin'!
2.5 ounces of Rye Whiskey (the stronger, the better)
.5 ounces of Orange Juice
.25 ounces of Lemon Juice
.25 ounces of Maraschino Cherry juice (straight from the jar)
.25 ounces of Simple Syrup
Pour all the ingredients into a shaker with ice.
Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
